Em's Day 2025 - Saturday 16th August
Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/508632844912760
The UK Buell Enthusiasts Group first held its main event at LAHC East Kirkby in 2001. This year was the 24th edition.
Since 2004 the event has been dedicated to the memory of Emma Jane Radford, Buell rider and UK Buell Enthusiasts Group member, who passed away 22nd April 2004, aged 26 and has raised funds for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit.
Event Report
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event on Saturday 16th August. We would also like to thank the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (LAHC) for granting us permission to hold the event.
There was a total of 123 motorcycles at the event, including 32 Buells plus the usual great selection of Vincents and Italian motorcycles. Ducatis and Moto Guzzis formed the majority but there were some rare examples like Laverda, Motobi, Morini and MV Augusta.
Jonathan Lambley organised the attendance of the East Midlands section of the Vincent HRD Owners Club.
Thanks to the following for bringing display machines:
Brian and Tracey, Buell XBRR that Jeremy McWilliams last rode at the 2006 Daytona 200.
Gordon Allan, Buell M2 Cyclone drag bike and Buell M2 Cyclone road bike.
We would like to thank Kev Meanwell for bringing 4 of his Buells and his help and support on the day. Also, thanks to Nick Pashley for his help with publicity for the event.
And finally, thanks to Jane, Karen and Shabs for being on the gate for most of the day.
We introduced a cash less ticket only scheme for this year’s event. We sold 80 tickets. On the whole this worked very well and saved time and hassle both for us and riders who didn’t have to fiddle around for cash at the gate. People who arrived without tickets paid at the LAHC public admission point, but these payments didn’t include a donation to the charity. For next year’s event we need to fine tune the ticket only scheme with better publicity to make it work even better.
Em’s Day 2025 raised a total of £1,550.00. Split £800 for LAHC and £750.00* for Emma’s Charity.
* Advance ticket sales and cash donations on the day raised £235. We’ve added £504.94 to the total and rounded it up to £750. The £504.94 was transferred to us on the 9th June by Erik Buell following the generous collection of $715 USD that he organised for us at the UK Buell Enthusiasts Group East Troy Buell Reunion on the 7th June. See East Troy Buell Reunion. We lost money on our cancelled flights, but we accepted the money collected for us on the proviso that we could put it towards the funds raised at Em’s Day 2025.
