The 16th edition of Em’s Day was a great success, especially considering the recent bad weather we’ve all experienced lately in the UK. In the preceding week we were worried the event would have to be cancelled because of flooding not too far away from East Kirkby. Luckily, Saturday 15th June was dry for most of the scheduled timetable.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and a special thank you goes to Kev Meanwell and our friends, Karen and Shabs for their help and support on the day.
Em’s Day 2019 raised £942 for the Aviation Centre and £372 for Emma’s Charity. A cheque will be sent to Papworth Hospital in due course.
A total of 156 motorcycles came through the gate. There was a good selection of ‘enthusiasts’ machines on display, including Buells, Vincents and assorted Italian models. We were extremely pleased with the quality and range of motorcycles that turned out.
Guest of Honour, Sammy Miller MBE, put on a great display with his Moto Guzzi V8 and Gilera 500 Grand Prix machines. They both sounded glorious and we were lucky to be able to have them demonstrated in near perfect conditions. Incidentally, the V8 is insured for half a million pounds.
