Canada is blessed with thousands of kilometres of empty roads which seem to wind on forever through forested hills and between still blue lakes. What better way to explore them than by riding old Italian motorbikes, famous for their dodgy electrics and sparse dealer network.
Old bikes, aged rider, thousands of kilometres of virtually un-serviced empty roads in the middle of bear, wolf and blackfly infested wilderness - what could possibly go wrong?

A multi-part adventure through northern Quebec, Labrador and Newfoundland, riding my geriatric Moto Guzzi. She can be a cantankerous beast but, so far at least, she has always managed to get me home. Will the same be true this time? How will she handle the hundreds of kilometres of unpaved gravel road. And perhaps more importantly, how will her even older rider fare.
